(If we do not have a volunteer application on file for you - you MUST fill one out and submit it before the day of the event.)

Come out and join us.

Come join us as we help Ranger Tod Cornell on our beautiful island.

It is a work day - but we have a lot of fun while we are out there.

Jobs to include, but not limited to:

Beach clean-up, yard work around the Ranger's compound, cutting palm fronds and or tree limbs, raking leaves, painting, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical or any general work as designated and needed.

Bring your lunch & snacks including water or soft drinks. Wear closed toed shoes and hat if preferred, work gloves, bug spray, sun screen, and anything else you will need for the day.

If you take your own watercraft, we suggest you arrive on the island around 9:00 AM. We will let you know if it changes.

Please register by going to anclotecso.org and clicking on events. If you haven't already, you will need to complete a volunteer form which you will find below. You must fill out and submit a volunteer form before the event to the email address below:

Contact: president@anclotecso.org

Volunteers meet and leave from Anclote River Park 1119 Baillies Bluff Road, Holiday, FL 34691 At 8:00 am.

Again, contact the email above as to who and how many are coming so we can arrange boat rides to the island.  Thank you.

March 14, 2020

This to inform you that the Open House events scheduled for April 4th and 5th have been cancelled because of the COVID-19 situation.

Currently, all Florida State Parks and Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection facilities (aquatic preserves and National Estuarine Research Reserves) remain open to the public. However, out of an abundance of caution, DEP has made the decision to cancel all events and activities at Florida State Parks and Office of Resilience and Coastal Protection facilities effective immediately.

This decision is in line with guidance from the CDC for the public to avoid the gathering of large groups. The department will provide updates when events and activities will resume.

First Friday Event in Downtown Tarpon Springs

May 1st, 2020

We will have a table set up with memorabilia for sale, membership and volunteer information, as well as the Memorial Brick order forms. Sometimes we even set up the bean bag toss game!  Please stop by and see us.

May 9th, 2020 9 am to 3 pm last climb at 2:30 pm

We will have memorabilia for sale, membership and volunteer information, as well as the Memorial Brick order forms.

If you have never climbed, it is worth the trip! Open to all ages, but be aware this involves 127 STEEP stairs.

If you have your own boat pull up as close as possible to the island, DO NOT use the dock. We hope to see you there.

We highly recommend that you WEAR CLOSE TOED SHOES.

No bare feet or flip-flops as the boardwalk and pathways may be challenging.

     Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

It would not have been possible without the dedication and support of the volunteer staff, and Board Members.

                 Thank you all,
